New robotic system expands access to minimally invasive surgery
NKC Health is adding a new robotic surgery system to provide more patient access to minimally invasive surgery.
The new da Vinci 5 robot allows surgeons to perform complex procedures with greater control and precision. For patients, the addition of the new system means greater access to minimally invasive surgery and more opportunities to receive advanced surgical care close to home.
NKC Health builds on its commitment to women’s health
NKC Health is proud to welcome Imaging for Women and the High-Risk Pregnancy Center of Kansas City to our health system. These additions bring established physicians, care teams and specialized expertise into the NKC Health family, growing specialized services in two important areas of women’s health: advanced breast imaging and maternal-fetal medicine.

New mammography technology improves screenings
Today’s mammography technology helps radiologists see breast tissue in greater detail. NKC Health Imaging uses Selenia® 3Dimensions™ high-resolution mammography systems, which provide detailed images that can help radiologists evaluate breast tissue and identify potential concerns. This advanced technology supports more precise breast imaging and may help reduce unnecessary callbacks and additional testing.
“Softer edges on the compression paddles and a design that distributes pressure more evenly can help reduce skin pulling and improve comfort. Advances in technology also allow us to obtain high-quality images with less compression in some cases,” said Carl Van Tasell, MD, a radiologist with Northland Radiology. “Patients benefit from both greater comfort and better results.”
