NKC Health - Headache Center

The NKC Health Headache Center is Kansas City's only dedicated headache center. We provide specialized care for people with recurring or disruptive headaches, including migraines and other headache disorders.

Our board-certified neurologists evaluate symptoms, identify possible causes and develop personalized treatment plans to help reduce pain, prevent future headaches and improve daily function.

Coordinated care

Some patients may benefit from care from other specialties or services. Our team can coordinate care with neurosurgery, pain management, pharmacy, physical therapy and radiology, as well as our on-site Infusion Center.

Headache conditions we treat

We evaluate and treat a range of headache types, including:

• Cervicogenic (begins in the neck) headaches, including those related to cervical dystonia
• Cluster headaches
• Headaches caused by trauma or concussions
• Migraines
• Tension headaches
• Trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, a group of headache disorders

Treatment options

A physician referral is required to make an appointment. Depending on your symptoms and diagnosis, treatment may include:

• Prescription medications and medication management
• Occipital nerve blocks
• Trigeminal nerve blocks
• Trigger point injections
• IV medications for migraines
• Botulinum toxin (Botox) injections
